Just got scammed out of a Steam key for Hitman: Blood Money.

There is a possibility that the scammer hasn't had a chance to use it yet, so here it is for anyone to try: 8W6T2-ZP4IB-Q078J.

If you do try it, let me know if it worked for you. Good luck.

*******s. Thanks for trying it out -- I appreciate it. +rep. Amazing how people will scam for a $1.50 game.

It is completely my fault for being trusting, of course. There were several red flags: his profile looked a bit dodgy, his offer was highball, it was a key and the Steam trade forums expressly recommend not trading keys, etc. etc. But I chatted with the dude for a bit and he seemed normal enough. I figured that he had no reason to trust me, either (I almost never make trades and keep my profile private), so I agreed to send my key first. He took the key and bolted from the chat. Whatever. It was a calculated and very minor risk that I elected to take, with no real harm done. I just can't stand liars.

Yeah, I did. Not sure anything will come of it, but hopefully they'll do something to stop him from doing it to someone else, when more might potentially be on the line.

That would be fun, too, wouldn't it. Unfortunately they only allow one new thread every 24 hours, but I'll think about it for tomorrow.

Screenshot the whole conversation OR do prove that you actually bought that CD-key and do THIS.

Got my old account back that way when a dude scammed me for it. Also got my old CS 1.6 back too, don't know how someone got my key though.

That's great -- I'll definitely try it as I can absolutely prove that I bought the key. Should have taken a screenshot of the chat conversation, but perhaps they have record of that since it was through Steam.

Not the trade forum, but I'll try to find another appropriate spot.
