Found this in an old thread. Didn't want to necropost so I make a new thread instead.

Is there any way to disable this?

I want the powermizer to downclock even while on external monitor...

(For now I software downclock via ATITool...)

If the laptop is running on battery then only the powermizer starts so if you hook up an external monitor and ur laptop is on AC then u dont need powermizer and if its on battery then powermizer will run automatically. Also if you have latest Nvidia GPUs then only there is the powermizer technology asyou didnt mentioned the specs.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I have a powermizer-enabled GPU, ofcourse.

I know when and when not PowerMizer "normaly" sets. I know I don't "need" the powermizer when on AC. But I still want it - lower heat, less usage etc etc.

    So.. anyone?

I want the powermizer to downclock even while on external monitor...
