I'm really pissed off at Vista right now, it keeps downclocking my GPU in the middle of a game and it's not even overheating.

I was wondering if there was a way to force PowerMizer on ONLY when High Performance is selected, and off for the other two modes.

There probably is a way in the BIOS, but I don't know how.

If there is someone here who does though, they will need your GPU, computer model (possibly), and your BIOS version.

    Hope this helps!

So why is it that you can adjust PowerMizer in XP? Is it just nVidia dumbing down their control panel so people don't mess up their predicted battery life? If I install XP on my machine I can adjust powermizer. With vista the only adjustments I can make are through registry hacks which either puts it on or off. I can get a balance between off for ac and on for battery though, but it is still a pain as I don't need it off all the time, just when I play games. My solution at the moment is to use 174.16 drivers as they seem to only downclock my GPU for 2 secs at a time; roughly every 75 secs, so I don't notice it too much.

Well I don't know about Powermiser, but is there actually a Vista version of it?

Because really most any software that is XP compatible is Vista compatible now, so try running the XP software and see if it works. XD Vista will say it is incompatible on program startup if it is... so no harm done. :)

    That might work... XD

PowerMizer is integrated into the nVidia drivers. It is not a seperate program. This means we have to rely on nVidia getting the drivers right.
