    Hi

    I have a precision M6700 from a friend.
The Graphic Card is a AMD FirePro M6000. Is it possible to upgrade it with a Quadro K4000 or K5000, K5100M?

    The Configuration:
    CPU: i7 3940XM
    RAM: 16GB
    GPU: AMD FirePro M6000

Sorry for my bad english ;)

You should be able to do so and if there is an unlocked BIOS, you'd be able to upgrade to 780/880M...

Dang, u mean that for the Dell M series, the gfx is not hot-swappable? and is locked only to certain cards deem worthy by Dell?

Well, it may not like non Dell cards, but it will take any quadros from Dell (note that you will need to order the nVidia heatsink as the one on the firepro is incompatible with nVidia GPUs) and will even take some Alienware GPUs like the 680M.

You should call Dell to order the heatsink, if it's like a CPU heatsink it'll run you in the 15-25$ range. A Quadro will be much more expensive though.
