    Predicted Minimum Specifications (NOT OFFICIAL)
CPU: Intel P4 2 Ghz or AMD equivalent
    RAM: 1 GB
Video Card: 6800 GT (256mb) or ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb)
    Hard Disk Space: 16 GB
Operating System: Microsoft Windows (XP and Vista)
    Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

I would say that these are a little under what they should be, but I think they should be decently be close unless you want to play on full settings.

The video card requirement will definitely be lower. Games such as Gears of War, Unreal Tournament 3, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, Mass Effect, to name a few have the Nvidia 6600GT as their minimum requirement with 128 mb of vRAM.

I've played them all (except Mass Effect) on my BFG 6600GT at low settings and a resolution of 800x600 with no problems whatsoever. Granted, it's not the best experience but it worked.

Since the GTA IV graphics engine doesn't look as intense as Unreal Engine 3 (what most of the games I mentioned are using, except Gears of War), I believe the requirements should even even lower, that is if Rockstar does a proper port.

I'm looking forward to this game on the PC, when will it be released.

I'm sure it will handle fairly well on my desktop.

I want recommend specs! :p see how it will run on my rig, knowing Rockstar it will be a solid port so I doubt it will need a beast like some people say.

Why don't they release the specs information needed to run the game when they release it? The should know after this long what they should be...

Yea I know it's the PC version because I have been waiting a long time for it, but it still doesn't explain why after like 5 months or so that they can't just tell us about the specs right when they tell us it will be released in Nov...I know they have to do stuff to get it in the "PC format", but you would think that since it takes a computer to get to PC format that they would be able to figure out the specs needed as they do it.

Those games are all significantly less complex as far as large-scale geometry goes. Mass Effect has large areas that are incredibly simple, and the rest are all very closed-in and streamlined. GTA IV renders massive areas with a decent amount of detail, so while it might not look as nice as those games up close, you don't want to set minimum requirements that'll choke the second you give the player a helicopter.
