I know my laptop isnt a power house by today's standards but i was glad to see it can run ut2004 without a hitch.Smooth online and offline gaming bliss.Since that and ut2003 are the only online games i play im a happy camper.
Ive been playing also diablo2,dugeon siege,a few splinter cell games, fable, seriuos sam2,all running good on this laptop.not bad for a Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family.![]()

UT2K4 is not only an awesome game, but the engine powering it (Unreal Engine 2.5) is a shining example of what engines should be.
-
Yes very true,ya know it almost seems like my networking on my laptop is better than my desktop. It seems like it just so much smoother, both are on same dsl line.
Anyway it's a cool game to play with a long life to boot.

Wow that is quite suprising, I own a Compaq Presario C700 (check sig) and I was not impressed from the performance I got.
-
uummmm thats to bad,i just downloaded the newest intel drivers dated 6-18-08 the ones i had before that ,were older.maybe you need to upgrade some drivers.
what performance were you not impressed with!!!!!. -
New drivers come to mind when trying out demanding games.
-
Yeah I cant wait to play UT2k4 again. but pretty impressive
-
Anther thing i noticed also:at first my laptop had just 512megs ram running vista basic. Then i upgraded to 2gigs of crucail ram 1gig in each slot,so now iam running in duel channel mode, which really improved my laptop performance.
Im sure that boosted performance in games....

That's not really all that surprising to me as my Acer aspire one plays UT04 pretty well too
I also play DeusEx, ghost recon, postal2, trials2, and trackmania united on it. I still wish this thing had transform and lighting support though. -
Dual channel helps a lot while gaming.
-
only with igps though.
-
I have downloaded all driver updates and I wanted to play CS:S and that didn't really play that well even on low

You should be able to play CS: S with integrated Intel graphics. I have an Acer with a Pentium Dual-Core and a 4500MHD graphics chip and it runs it on high settings at 1024x768, no problem.
Where did you get the driver update from, JVlichael? I got mine from Intel.com. -
I got it with DriverMax
-
I also got my intel gpu drivers their too, they were newer than what vista update had installed,go figure.....
-
I should try there then
-
Yes i would.
-
I feel noob-ish cause I can't find my chipset, I have searched it but it doesn't seem to look like it fits my chipset
