Surprised to see that no one on the forum has ben talking about this, but there is a new PoP for PC, PS3, Xbox360 and Wii, and this one is looking to be good, not like the last one, eww....
Some info from wikipedia:
Plot: "The game is an interquel, taking place in the seven year gap between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. The Prince character is supposed to be a cross between the character models in these two games."
"According to Nintendo Power, the Wii version's plot will revolve around a female djinn seeking help from the Prince to liberate a kingdom enslaved by a mysterious evil."
Gameplay:
" The biggest new feature is the addition of elemental powers, which bring a new dimension to the core gameplay, because of the way these powers interact with each other and the Prince's other abilities. There are four core powers in the game. For example, the Prince can "solidify" water fountains and turn them into climbable columns. Besides these core powers, there are also minor powers". Interesting, really.
"The combat in the game is similar to combat mechanics found in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Prince will be able to fight multiple enemies in one battle, up to 50 at once." can be a challenge ? nah

looks a bit cool, but somewhat looks like it's from the last gen console games.
Hope you enjoyed it![]()
PS: doesn't Malik look a bit like Ezio's uncle ? Mario ?
also I hope that the soundtracks in this game is as good as Warrior Within or The Two Thrones, Stuart Chatwood Rocks !!!!

Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
1. I don't think the PC is out till June
2. The PC will have the Ultra Ubi DRM on it
3. The platforming does look like good fun
4. The Prince looks terrible
5. I read the story is pretty generic
6. I will buy it for PS3 when it's really cheap or even used from craigslist to protest the DRM. -
I liked all the Prince of Persia's (I exclude the 2008 one from that list since I don't count it as one, its just that horrible) I going to buy it on PC, the crap DRM is going to annoy me but i don't really care anymore, to be honest.

where u gona get it from Ikuto?
-
No point buying from a game store here for 100 where i can get it from Steam in a different country for cheaper.

Any impressions now that it's out, guys?
-
I would be interested in knowing how it perform on PCs.

Plays pretty well, I am liking it so far. I liked the last one too though, mainly for visuals and story. Not for the game play, which was odd with the no dieing aspect. Well now we have Forgotten Sands now with added player death.
So far to me Forgotten Sands has nothing to do with the previous story, but how could the Prince and the world recover from that epic fail level of bad decision making at the end? -

I hear there's no block button anymore. Counterattacks were essential in Prince of Persia, both the Sands series and the reboot.

Geez that Prince looks terrible... Looks nothing like the one I remember. Why'd they make him so ugly?
-
Oh, what I'd give to have Gemma Arterton be a character in the next game. The movie was worth watching just for the scenes she was in. -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing

it was supposed to be released on June 8, but it's not out yet for PC

I saw a pc copy at BB this week. Didn't pick it up because of the DRM though.

I loved the 2008 PoP for it's amazing art, graphics and story. It was ten times better than the movie and all the other games combined; YouTube - Prince of Persia - Beauty Trailer (TGS 2008)
This new PoP looks boring, generic and more of the same to me. The game from 2008 had shallow combat, but it was still a really fun game, that I loved just for the experience. -

The 2008 PoP was fun, but more in a relaxing run through the park kind of way. The art direction was wonderful and the highlight of the game. The story was ok but using Nolan North for the Prince's voice was utterly lazy casting. He didn't suit it at all.
This new game looks to have some great platforming but I don't think it will live up to SoT just like the other sequels don't
The movie, lol. Why even bring that into the comparison? -
