    Hello guys,
Im getting crazy with this problem :( I have pass the last 4 hours uninstalling and installing nvidia drivers.

    My laptop is: NP700Z7C

My clocks are allways on maximum when i'm on desktop with no use, and i really don't know what to do.
    Pls check image:
And when i run any program of nvidia (Panel or nvidiaInspector) clocks go normal as u can see:

I remember having 35º and now i got more than 50º with no use on laptop.

I'm now with nvidia panel: 314.07 drivers: 8.17.13.1407
But when i uninstall this version my laptop stays with nvidia panel: 307.32 Driver: 8.17.13.0732 as default (i think its the default that comes with laptop), but even with 307.32 i have the same problem :(

If anyone could help me i would appreciate it so much.

Sorry for my bad English :)

    Thanks.

Hmmm odd, I have a Samsung laptop too with same GPU but I have never had this sort of issue.

What I guess might be happening is that NVIDIA Optimus (the system that controls automatic graphics switching) is unnecessarily activating the NVIDIA GPU when some trivial background program is launched. It is meant to only switch to the NVIDIA GPU when a game is launched. Try looking at the NVIDIA Control Panel (you can right click the green NVIDIA icon from the taskbar tray) and select 'manage 3D settings' and check whether it is set to 'auto' or 'high performance' (it should be auto). Report back what you see there so we can get to the root cause of this :)

Looks like the card is in performance mode where you need it to be in 'Adaptive' mode in the nvidia control panel. Like Cakefish says, check your power options in the nvidia control panel.

Also it could be due to that widget monitoring the gpu speed that the GPU clocks are at maximum. Try disabling the widget and use something like MSI afterburner or GPU-Z to check the clocks.

Yeah I agree with what DDDenniZZZ says above, would be good to check that out. It might be a case of the actual monitoring program not functioning correctly.

    MSI Afterburner download link

DDDenniZZZ I did as u said, i even restore the panel of nvidia to default.

    Here is some results again,
    With other gpu meter is:
When i open CPUZ goes to normal:
When i use MSI Afterburner, goes to normal some secunds after:

    And when i close it:

But the problem is, from the begining i used allways gpu metter, in begining no high clocks and now when i use to desktop its shoes all high clocks.
I think this happens after use nvidiaInspector to some clocks! Its possible any problem to that?

Couse i even formated laptop do fabric default and to windows 8 default and the problem still there....

Im getting crazy with this :(

EDIT: Even more crazy ,if i have 2 programs of reading clock it goes to normal clocks, if i use one only( CPUZ OR MSI Afterburner OR GPU Meter from widget) clocks are at maximum, its really anoying :(
