The Game: NBA 2K10, def not a problem 2 of my roommates run it fine
    My Computer: Dell XPS M1530

    Specs:
    4.0 GB RAM
    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50 GHz
    64 bit Windows 7
    NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
    160 GB SATA Hard Drive
    SigmaTel High Def Audio Card

The Problem: I basically can run this game on highest quality, I do turn it down though to 1024 resolution and a couple other minor graphics like no sideline characters. No matter what graphics I run this on it will run smoothly, until about every 5 minutes or so all of a sudden it Lags. It Lags for about a minute then the game comes back to normal, running about 37 FPS. I have no idea what would cause this... My Laptop recently came up with the battery's life is low error, so I pulled out the battery and ran from just the plug, no luck.

If anyone has any suggestions what I can try to solve this, it would be great. Is it possible I burned the graphics card out or something like that. I try to keep my laptop on a cooling fan no matter what I'm doing, especially when playing games. Any help will be appreciated...

Overheating and that's not suprising considering u have a 8600M GT... Undervolt your CPU using the Undervolting guide, link here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235824

Clean the vents of ur laptops using a can of compressed air , that should have a great improvement...

    Get a notebook cooling pad...

and now u should have no problems.
