    Problem updating ati catalyst driver

    hey everyone,

    i have a problem while i was trying to update my catalyst driver where the new driver is installing and i get an error message saying setup can not find a driver compatible with your hardware or system. setup is now exiting. what i exactly did was:

    1. download catalyst driver 7.7
    2. uninstalled old driver but i think i uninstalled the wrong one the ati display driver.
    3. tried to install the new drivers but error message keeps popping up.

    someone please help me !!

    I did it a couple weeks ago. uninstall all ATI stuff in "add/remove" restart you should have a pretty crappie picture install the new catalyst. For some reason the first time had problem so I just made sure all ATI stuff gone. The instructions told me to get rid of a certain file but the name was a little off. So get Rid of ALL ATI stuff on your computer first.

    ok i removed whatever that said ati in my add/remove control panel but it still says setup can not find a driver compatible with your system or hardware.

    If it is detecting your card before you install catalyst ignore. Mine did find new hardware but ignore that, until you install of course no driver. you need to run the EXE you downloaded first.
