I'm trying to use ATI tools v0.27 beta 4 to overclock the GeForce 8600M GT with the 169.28 modded driver in my Acer Aspire 5920G with vista 32-bit. When I click "Find Max Core" It comes up with a message that my video memory is overclocked even though I have never overclocked it. When I try to change the clock speeds manually and click "Set Clock" it reverts back to the default values.

um... don't use a beta.. especially for overclocking. get .26 and try that

    0.26 doesn't work with vista.

If there is an option to unlink shader and core clocks, try doing that before overclocking.

If nothing else, you can always try RivaTuner...most people are successful using that.

I tried rivaTuner and it seems to work fine. :) Except I can't control fan speed, but I've heard that's a vista issue.
Anyone know some good overclocking values for the 8600M GT?
