    Problem with GTA IV save games, plz help.

    Hi, I recently had to backup all my save games and reinstall my OS because of some viruses. Everything worked ok, and I have copyed my save games back into the appdata/local/rockstar games folder...but I can't load them. When I am in game and I go to load my game it says I need a games for windows live account. So I made an account, I go to load my save, and I still can't load it. Before my reinstall of my OS when I started up GTA IV it just said Luke logging on or something like that, I never made an account : / but even when I am not logged into GFWL on my new account I can't access my saves >.<

    Plz help! I was almost done the game : (

    i thought you need an account to windows live and social club to activate the game (i think).
    doesnt help much but you can log into steam and download the game again but then you will have to start at the beginning again.
    i gave up on this game ages ago and deleted it.

    I didn't download it from Steam I bought it from a store.

    You are getting that error because you also need to copy over the xlive folder. Take a look at this guide under the title ''How do I back up my save games ?''

    Also you did make an account because saving will not work without it.

    aw crud >.< I don't have the xlive folder anymore : (

    Is there any way to load my save games other than that?
