At school i have no trouble with Punk Buster and COD4, but since i came home i haven't been able to stay in a game for more then 10mins. I get kicked for all types of Punk Buster things. The last one was "Violation(ignoring Queries)#9006"
I tried updating Punk Buster but that didn't work. I went to Windows firewall and selected COD4 to be allowed too. I am on a wireless connection and i'm wondering if it is the Wireless router that's blocking Punk Buster.

I am running Vista 32 on an ASUS G1s-A1. My router is a Linksys WRT45G Wireless-G router. Any ideas as to what to do? Thanks in advance.

Run in XP compat mode, turn off all background apps, reinstall punkbuster/game.

Are you using pbsetup to manually update punkbuster?

im home and having the SAME exact problems.. i found this file online that some1 put up for download which replaced the pb folder, and it worked for a few days... now the errors are back. I opened ports, updated. If i reinstall, do i lose my rank and stuff?

I had that problem right before 1.4 was released. Try doing this:

Go to http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php and download the PunkBuster (COD4) Player Client Files that correspond to your OS.

Then copy that into the CoD4 pb/htm folder.

    Hopefully that fixes it.

try pressting "shift"+"~" and typing in "/pb_security 0" you might be blocking an update. That should fix it anyway.

i have a semi-fix for the issue... i noticed the errors (both pb INIT fail, and the "ignoring queries") occurred wen i was missing either PnkbstrA or PnkbstrB. at first, only pnkbstrA was in the processes column and i got the errors. Wen i restarted my computer, both A and B were there, and i played for many hours, with NO error... so. restart and check for both A and B in the task manager proceses
