I have just installed Oblivion and also got Fraps to check my fps, but whenever i run Oblivion with fraps i get a BSOD. Is there a known problem like this with an easy fix? Or do i just have to not run Fraps with Oblivion?
This is the only game i have played with fraps, so i don't know if it is a problem with fraps or not.
Thanks for any help.
And for anyone who was wondering, i can run Oblivion on everything on High, and HDR with ~15 fps. Otherwise i really don't know what kind of fps i get due to my BSOD.![]()

hmmm... I don't have any trouble running Oblivion and FRAPS together.
Not sure what's wrong with yours. did you receive any error messages? -
It says something about a display adapter i think, but it just flashes, since it wasn't a big deal i didn't bother getting the whole message, it had text down the whole screen. I have the latest gpu driver that i can get for a 8600m gt afaik.

Yeah i have not had any problems with FRAPS and Oblivion. Dont know what to tell you.... hope you get it resolved

Mr._Kubelwagen More machine now than man
Do you have the newest version of fraps? Because they released one last week which fixed a lot of bugs in vista. It solved a lot of problems I was having.

i used to get game crashes with Call of duty 2 and Fraps. got the new version of Fraps and probelm solved
-
Hmmm, i'll check that now.

Well i decided to play a little without fraps at all, and after a few hours it just froze. My gpu was at ~66 degrees celsius, which is fine right? Not sure of my cpu or hdd, but i would have to assume they were fine if my gpu is only at ~66 degrees right?

Use SpeedFan to measure your HD and CPU and Case temperatures...
66C...hmmm, that's bit high...but nothing really serious after heavy gaming, my card usually stays around 55C.... -
I have NHC to check it, but it froze and i didn't have the info on top of Oblivion. I couldn't switch out of oblivion to check the temps.

Run Oblivion in Window mode, bam, problem solved... lol
