As a backstory, i messed up my hard drive because my battery died and my laptop is living off of direct feed from the AC adapter, so the other day i accidentally unplugged it and when i turned it back on, it wouldnt recognize the hard drive. So i called dell and they wouldnt replace the battery because it's been over a year since i bought it (even though i have 2 year CompleteCare, it doesnt cover batteries apparently), they replaced the hard drive and i had to start again from scratch.
Anyway, i tried watching a video and it looked completely choppy and really bad quality, even though i know for a fact that it should look fine, so i said "what the hell" and i updated my drivers, but when i installed them (after restart) my fan started acting really crazy, like when you step on the gas pedal a few times to accelerate your car, the engine makes these "fwoooooshhhhhhh.... fwoooooooshhhhh.." sounds, like max power and then no power, thats the same with my fan, keeps going on and off and on and off in about 2 second intervals. Now, not only is this very annoying to hear and its driving me crazy, but im afraid either my fan of my GPU might get damaged if i dont get it fixed soon.
So, can anyone help me? Btw, ive tried the 179.14, 176.9 from laptopvideo2go.com and 176.44 which are the official Dell approved drivers on their support website. They all present the same problem, even though 176.9 seems a little bit milder, 176.44 was the worst but not by much.

It's a problem I had as well with any driver 179.14 onwards, including all 180 series. You should be able to resolve it by updating to the latest bios revision, A09 on the Dell website.

I tried that when i reinstalled all the latest drivers, but it said i have to have both my battery and my AC adapter on to continue the install, and since my battery is dead i couldnt continue, i could get my hands on a borrowed battery but it will probably take me days.
So is there a way to bypass this ridiculous "must have battery and power on to continue installation" thing? Or another thing i could do with the drivers?
Thanks for the help -
Try DOX's 180.70 drivers at www.laptopvideo2go.com
