    Hi there

I've recently acquired a copy of Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition.

Now this game was made in 2002 and yet I am having problems running it, it runs very slowly and at times it's like watching a slideshow.

My video card is an Nvidia Geforce Go 6100, I have 4gb of RAM installed, I am running Vista 32bit and my cpu is a AMD Turion 64 with a speed of 2.2ghz.

My video drivers are as up to date as I can get them.

I'm running the game in the lowest settings possible with a resolution of 800x600 and I'm running it in XP compatibility mode as well as running it in 256 colors (which is the only way I can get it to run in the first place) and I've disabled the hide/show upper tiles thing in the game options.

Please could someone advise me on how I can improve the performance of the game?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice :)

256 colors? You shouldn't be running it in 256 colors to start with. Sounds like you've got some really issues. I doubt the performance of the 6100 is up to scratch either.

It doesn't run unless in 256 colors, all I get is the music and the mouse pointer on a black screen.

NWN is a finnicky title for some reason. The Go 6100 is an IGP yes? You might want to try allocating the maximum amount of RAM to it that you can in the bios. Other then that you'll just have to tweek the settings in game. I never got it to run efficiently on any sort of IGP (though my Radeon 345 in my VAIO did an admirable job) and the open sequences for the campaigns have never displayed well for me. Though the game plays smooth in my desktop with an 8500GT
