Did you install the patches for BF2? Also, if you haven't updated your video drivers, do that:

I recommend 169.04. -
okay I am installing the patches but I have not updated my video drivers so I have also put my screen refresh rate at 60 hertz but still nothing has worked.
-
It also could be the refresh rate issue, like so many notebook gamers have with only BF games.
If you refresh rate is not 60Hz, then this is probably the reason.
And if you have an intergrated videocard, that could be an issue as well. -
Dang VISTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I actually went to the Easy info thing and it said that I have failed in the area of operating system because Vista is a showoff.

First, you have to stop blaming Vista. Get off the bandwagon. BF2 plays just fine on Vista. It's not Vista. Stop blaming Vista.

Battlefield 2 is such a complicated game to get working sometimes. It can be one of so many things. It's really really difficult. If I were you I would find a forum dedicated to BF2 (like here) and ask in the support forum, you might get more specific help there.

please state your video card spec...
I run BF2 on vista without any problems.
Looks like your problem is caused by none other but your graphics card, it doesn't seem to be able to run the game. -
I found out the problem my screen when I click the 60 hertz icon and I press apply then another icon comes out and gives me 15 seconds to apply it, I do this then I look at the graphics properties and it still is 59 hertz it does not stay on 60 hertz how do make it stay at 60 hertz?
