    Hi,

I recently bought an m18x alienware laptop with ati's dual 6990m's and they've been giving me trouble.

First thing that happens is when I try to use Unity3D, is, everything on my screen freezes, then windows tells me that the display driver stopped responding. It'll do this repeatedly.
When I tried to install driver version 1.9 from ATI's website, it crashed and gave me a blue screen of death mid installation. It worked the second time now.
Third, even after the driver change Unity still froze and the display driver stopped responding. GTA4 said that it couldn't be run at anything but the lowest graphics settings both before and after the driver change, yet Crysis 2 would run around 40 FPS on the maximum settings.
Although after switching settings around a couple times, the graphics card began fritzing out and spitting blocks of random pink pixels at the top left corner of my screen.

I'm not sure what to do to fix this... any help would be great. ATI has always been known for not the best drivers with everyone I've known to use them - second time for me.
