    Hey guys quick question...

The old Pentium 4 processors had clock speed up to around 3.8 mhz, and current processors get up to around 2.4 mhz. Having said that, here is my question... why do games IE Bioshock have a minimum requirement of 2.4 mhz? Are they still using the old p4 speeds or do you need a current processor of >2.4?

    Ideas?

    doesn't bioshock say something like:

    min: x.x ghz P4,
rec: x.x ghz core 2 duo

    ?

    Here are the minimum

    Minimum System Requirements:
    # Operating Systems: Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista
    # CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz Single Core processor
    # System RAM: 1GB
    # Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 128MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better/ATI X1300 or better, excluding ATI X1550).
    # Sound Card: 100% direct X 9.0c compatible sound card Hard disc space: 8GB free space

and under Required, it only says core 2 without a clock speed

ok, well afaik, the 2.4ghz is for an old processor (ie P4 single core).

now adays a 2.4 ghz processor is good if it has multiple cores (like my Q6600), a single core 2.4ghz is pretty terrible (I think), but a 4 core 2.4 ghz is kinda like having 9.6 ghz (in a perfectly optimized multi core app).

I'm not sure I understand your question, I guess the box seems kinda clear to me.

For now, software processor requirements are generally listed in terms of Pentium 4 Ghz performance. Virtually any Core 2 Duo is more powerful than the fastest Pentium 4.
