Post here as you finish games you've procrastinated on. HTWingNut should be president of this support group.

I will start. I'm in the midst of finishing DarkSiders 2 after many many years. Will update when finished, hope to finish today or tomorrow.

    My list to finish:
    Witcher 3
    Dark Souls
    Dark Souls 2
    Batman Arkham Knight

Will try to do so in the next few months. Encourage your fellow gamer to finish games! FINISH THEM!

Well be a little realistic. Pick a few games to finish and then try to finish them. Even if you end up not liking it much, suffer through and finish!

I'm bored of Darksiders 2's puzzles and hack n slash, but I'll persevere.

Lol, your list is worse than mine and I am pretty bad myself. Honestly, it would be so much easier to list the games I have beaten over the last few years. Trust me, it doesn't compare to what I still need to finish.

Everyone on NBR has less games than Wingnut. In fact if you combine all NBR member game lists together it will still be shorter than old man Wingnut's.

With recent Steam sales (the black friday-ish and the winter one) I wonder how anyone has less than say 30 titles on back burner :D

Yeah I've got 330 games on Steam now.. I'm a little mortified. I only really play GTA5, Killing Floor 2 and Project Cars on anything that could be considered a regular basis.

I'll get GTA V once I play a few games. Add me for Killing Floor 2 though!

I'm at 231 games on Steam, 20 on Origin, 10 on GoG, 3 on Ubicrap.

The very game that turned me all hateful towards nGreedia. Don't know what the developers knew or didn't, but after screwing with close to half of your bakers (let's not forget that it was mostly a community funded project), no way in hell I'm going to buy. I wont even pirate the damn thing... and I was eager to get it :( So yeah, that's why I hate both veryMad and nGreedia. Wish them nice trip to hell.

You and me both! I've spent more for games than hardware in recent months and that's not good :D

    Done

You're a stronger man than me. Those are perfectly valid reasons for a boycott. It's such a a shame though. They got so much right with that game. It's the perfect engine, it's absolutely delicious, it just needs more cars - like some damn Ferrari's for pete's sake lol. Modding would be a dream but that's never going to happen either. Honestly decent car sims are as rare as rocking horse. I have to get behind quality if I see it.

I know, that's why I was and still am furious! If it wasn't for this I would have had a hynix vRAMed GTX 780m (my machine doesn't deal nice with AMDs) playing pCARS. What's done is done though. I hope someone would manage to match or even surpass pCARS, maybe pCARS 2 with none of the proprietary ****. Everyone deserves a second chance, but nGreedia had a few too many.

I didn't buy anything in 2 recent Steam sales. Tons of game on my wishlist but still don't feel like buying them. If I ever want to, games will only get cheaper in the future so it's a win-win I guess (have to wait though).

    Bioshock series
Dark Souls 1 + 2 (literally can't play Dark Souls 1 with kb/m, can't even create my character)
    A Bird Story
    Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
    Skyrim (the Dragonborn questline)
Portal (bought it because I like Glados announcer in Dota 2)

I believe that happened for me a few years back when I experienced my first Steam sale. Initially signed up for Steam in order to buy Civ 5 when it launched. Then I picked up Fallout New Vegas and one or two other titles.

Suddenly it was Christmas time and there were so many deals. Some of the publisher packages were pretty crazy, like 40 or 50 games for $70, etc. Probably dropped a couple hundred dollars and ended up with about as many titles.

Since that time, I've never managed to catch up. Not even talking about completing games, merely installing and playing them. So many I've haven't gotten around to downloading yet. I suppose it works out well because my laptop is about as old as many of these games.

And then Skyrim came out, and I mostly played only that one game for a couple years or worked on making mods. These days, I'm still playing the first Steam game I ever bought, Civ 5 - gonna be quite a while before I get to the 2015 games. Will give them a shot eventually perhaps after upgrading to a new laptop.

One thing I learned during my illustrious career as a Steam Procrastinator: unless it's a game you've been eagerly awaiting from your all time favorite developer, just wait. Buy it a year later, even 2 or 3 years later for $5 including all DLC or even $1 from Humble Bundle.

There is zero reason to drop $60 buying any game at launch unless you've been waiting 100 years for a Fallout game or whatever. It will end up in your backlog anyways and there are tons of other games you can play in the meantime.

From my perspective as a consumer, the value of most games at this point (even AAA games) is in the range of $5 - 10, at least I'm not willing to spend more than that excluding certain rare exceptions. A number of titles on Steam already sell for as little as 10 - 15 cents, and generate trading cards which you can sell for more than the cost of the game. Many free to play games (like TF2) are also designed in a way where you never need to spend money to be competitive.

There's a tipping point around $10 where publishers begin to sell many, many more copies and generate more total revenue than they do at the $60 price point.

I´ve stopped doing this. I´ve come to value my time more and don´t suffer through just for the sake of it.
I have a couple unfinished games which taunt me a bit but I´ll just play what I like for the moment. Some I will finish eventually, others not.

I'm a baby compared to you guys haha.

    My Steam Profile (from SteamDB)

    • Worth: $2374 ($573 with sales)
    • Games owned: 201
    • Games not played: 162 (81%)
    • Hours on record: 826.4h

That Steam library had like 10 games in it up until like June of 2014 though...

Not to mention that a lot of the games in my Steam library now, I've played outside of Steam (Half-Life especially).

As far as games I want to actually finish, I have no idea. I haven't been in the mood to play games lately to be honest.

I have only 10 games, total. :) Not everyone has so much $$ to burn on games that they'll never ever play...

You should check out the deals on Bundlestars... Quite often the bundles will only run a few bucks. They had a bundle one time where I got 10 games for 1.99.

Steam sales = 50 games for $50. Not hard to rack up hundreds of games quickly. I've been a Steam member for 11.5 years now. Calculated value according to sites amounts to near $10k, but actual purchase price is less than $3k, over 11.5 years that amounts to about $260/year or a little over $20/month.

Sure, if I got pocket money (or had some independent means)... But nope. Parents aren't about to 'waste money on games', as they put it. Not even $10. I literally saved over several months for the $70 I paid for TW3. It's also why I don't bother with Steam sales. G2A/G2Play/GMG have prices that by default are still lower than the lowest that Steam has ever gotten. Also, Steam = DRM...

Finally, I only purchase games that I know I'll play. I have some 50+ games in my wishlists, but I'm pruning them all... I'll not have the time come February, anyway, because I'll be a conscript.

Humble Bundle sells a package of Steam games every week for as little as $1. Sometimes these include some pretty decent AAA games. And Steam has many free games as well as games that sell for under 50 cents, which interestingly generate Steam trading cards you can often sell for more than the cost of the game.

If you can delay buying until a year or two after launch, every game is much cheaper. For example, the witcher game you paid $70 for will eventually be in a Steam sale for around $5 - 10. At that point I will be sure to buy it.

Of course, but that misses my point - I don't buy games unless I know I will spend a significant amount of time on them (i.e. at least 50 hours). So my collection is small. It's also why I don't purchase Humble Bundles, etc.

Also, once again, I haven't exactly got pocket money. So even if a game goes for 'as little as $1', I can't buy it. Simply because I am, quite literally, broke.

Next, many free games are multiplayer. Besides War Thunder, such games don't appeal to me.

It's minimum $1 for the entire package of around 5 or 6 games. And the Humble Bundle deal occasionally includes some pretty good titles you can spend 50 hours or more on. I recommend to keep an eye on that site - I've been quite surprised to find titles on there I had been on the verge of buying at full price.

Everyone can scrape up a bit of change. Look in your sofa cushions or do some odd jobs around your neighborhood. When I was ten years old, I got a part time job selling newspaper subscriptions door to door after school, made $300-400 / week (sadly, wasted 100% of that on video games and random useless crap).

My list is nowhere NEAR as long as wingnuts, but it's pretty bloody long.

I have yet to *FINISH* (as in, see ending cutscene of) Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Despite so many hundreds of hours in it.

I also have so many games I need to finish it's a joke. And I keep getting addicted to random other games like Heroes of Might and Magic III HD edition. Or Runescape. And then neglecting all the others D=.

I have to play through Witchers 1 and 2 and finish Mass Effect 3 (I've played from 1 through 3 and just stopped playing 3 one day for no real reason) and Lichdom battlemage and a bunch of visual novel games and then so many others. I'm right smack on the last boss of Eternal Senia too and I just haven't gone ahead and BLAHHHHH amduaihbniuhsn.

    I procrastinate so much.

I'm not made of money either. I only buy if I use, be it hardware, software, whatever. I don't buy things just to have them. The thing was that you can get great deals on games that you would get anyway. Instead of getting them one-by-one when you plan to play them, you are getting them up-front with nice discount. Not that most games don't deserve the full price, but again - I'm not made of money either. So Steam sales it is. I do find some great deals locally as well.
