Who remember this? Many years ago an independent small group released technology demonstrations on their new game engine. This was released around the time Unreal 3 Engine details were being released. This new engine would allow developers to create more detail faster, and easier than any other. It also featured in real time shadow effect for every single particular on screen.

Later they released some game videos of a rogue character in First Person view unlike majority if not all today's MMOs. Crossbow in first person shoot and then the most fantastic demonstration of knife fighting I have to date have seen for any CGI movie or game.

But it's been so long that when it's finally released I wonder how it will hold up to today's new technology.

The Project Offset has gone slowly as the group remained small, even though they are now sponsored by Intel. Hmm, I really want to play and see their new engine in new games. but I wonder if this will ever be finished.

Hehe, a Photoshop demonstration from the art director: http://www.projectoffset.com/media/Video/Khang/Part-1/Khang.html

For me this is the game I am excited about, more so than Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, and any other game combined together.

Looks pretty promising actually, a good change to the common, Third-Person Massive-Multiplayer-Online games we have seen for a long while, most of them not including anything new or barely original at all.

Perhaps it will, indeed, provoke a really-needed revolution in the MMO market, in a Domino-Effect fashion; on current MMO's (at least, most of them) even though the numbers show otherwise, the concept is getting quite... old, rusty as it currently is, little to no stimulating interaction.

Project Offset's gameplay so far looks pretty good, new and refreshing concept change for MMO's, Blizzard may learn a thing or two from them (Old is not proportionally equal to Wise), but we will see when Offset comes out, hopefully it is not just another Duke Nukem Forever and it does indeed drop a nuke on the game industry.

    Adrenaline-Filled, Action-Packed, Realistic MMO's?, "Do Want!".
