Shame they lost the rights to the original F.E.A.R. name and "Point Man" character.

I hope they manage to pull off the random switch in protagonist while keeping me interested. I really enjoyed the first game.

Monolith Productions originally developed F.E.A.R. which was published by Vivendi Games, Inc. Vivendi Games owns the rights to the F.E.A.R. brand name as well as the rights to the main character from the original game. This is why Vivendi has continued releasing F.E.A.R. expansions while Monolith is developing a "True Sequel" to the original game: Project Origin, which will tell the story from the point of view of a new character right after the events of the original game.

Monolith also has to use a different publisher now that they and Vivendi have parted ways.

I don't like it when this happens to games. It breaks up consistency.
