It has been a while since I needed a clean install and had driver issues. I forget the order for removing the old drivers, what program I can use to ensure all Remanence of the old drivers are gone etc. I recall I used to uninstall it from the device manager then use a program to delete the drivers to get a cleaner install can anyone re describe this process?
Also what programs can i use to better hunt down this BSOD?

nvidia or ati?
if nvidia follow walkthrough link in sig below.
also download who crashed from below which will give the bsod dump report. -
nvlddmkm.sys is nVidia.
Just install drivers, when installing drivers use the "clean installation" option that should be a check mark during driver install. Not like the old days where you had to manually had to clean out all the dll and exe files. -
Whocrashed is no longer pulling up dumps even though I checked and my comptuer is set to save dumps, any ideas?
At this point I think my card is just bad, any ideas? -
thats why it might need a safe mode and driver sweeper install as sounds like something is corrupt
D2 Ultima likes this. -

ive done some tests in the past with driver cleaner pro, driver sweeper and cc cleaner and whichever cleaner i used the others still find more junk in the registry after the first clean had been run. so now i normally use cleaner pro or driver sweeper and then cc cleaner after and it hasnt let me down yet.
one thing i have noticed though is every time a new install updates physx driver all of my futuremark benchmark tests fail to run. i have to manually load an older physx which is a bit of a pain. -
More often than not those blue screens are due to a hardware issue, or signs of other corruption in your system. I get those when pushing overclock limits, or undervolting, it's usually voltage related.
When I've had a system get to that point, I do a clean install of Windows, install GPU drivers and see if the issue persists. It's probably quicker for a clean install than it is spending hours with different driver cleaners, driver versions, etc.
Also, has this been overclocked extensively? Is it using a modded vBIOS? -

I just used DDU to install the latest Nvidia Display Driver for the first time today. I've been hunting a BSOD with the same name tag as yours. I'm on 8.1. So far no crashes. It would crash on me browsing the internet or on my desktop, never under load. I recently changed a lot of things including adding new ram and it has frustrated me to no end trying to find the source. It didn't help that I'm new to 8 in general and wasn't even sure it was a traditional BSOD with their cartoony
. Or where to read the name tag for the fault. Hopefully your issues are resolved.
