I haven't played a lot of Prototype, but enough that it has affected my dreams. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

I used to have it with BF2 because I played it so much.

But with Prototype, it's strange. I had a dream that I was being held hostage by a man and a woman (hot woman at that, but I digress). I was scared for a while, then I finally just said "oh, $#%@ it!" and consumed both the people (like in Prototype) and walked away... lol.

Therapy, lol? Don't listen to that noob.

Some people are easier affect than others. I suggest you take a long break from video games, or begin to play non-violent game :)

Personally, I have never had dream of games.

I used to have stupid dreams about WoW when i was a hardcore player. I said myself that it's perhaps a good time to stop playing and lay back, so i quit the evil game and don't have any dreams associated with WoW anymore. Now i'm being occasionally haunted by hot ladies, but i take that as a sign of healthy and adult man :D Seriously, don't let games mess with your brain and lay off a bit, take longer breaks, spend less time playing etc. Living a real life can be sometimes just as much fun as playing a video game, mainly now that summer is here ;)

I really don't play games that much any more (10-12 hours/week if I'm lucky, 6-8 is more realistic). I spend 6am to 8pm with my little boys.

Perhaps that's why I had the dream because I'm not used to it, who knows. A dozen hours in a game like Prototype will dement you. For the good it looks like. I just thought it was funny.

I've only had dreams about an mmorpg when I was addicted. I quit that god forsaken game, and boom no more dreams. Though I did have a dream once that I was swimming in a pool filled with orange colored energy drink... Strange.

I can only remember one dream related to a game, Zombie Escape on CSS, lol.

I was addicted to it for the first two weeks and Steam told me I had been playing in for 75 hours in the past two weeks which I refuse to believe.

I've had lots of dreams about games, but they're always fun. It really gets to my brain somehow, although I don't game that much. The craziest dream I remember is running around shiva on my front lawn while she shoots rockets at me. The rockets were guided so one finally got me and I exploded but kept seeing everything like when you die in half-life 1. Lolz

I used to play super bust a move so much that when I would lie down and close my eyes to sleep at night it was almost like I was still playing the game. My mind would automatically react and try and figure out where to shoot the next ball, same thing happens when I spend all day on a boat, lie down that night and I would swear I was still in the boat.

If you are having nightmares/dreams of video games... then you are playing too much. 18+ hours a week is a bit of an investment to gaming IMO. Take a break from the gaming HTwingnut. Your previous thread that you made was about growing "tired" of new games, now your having dreams about them? I say take a break for the summer. Find a new hobby that is away from the computer.

Perhaps you didn't read my previous posts. I do 10-12 hrs/week if I'm lucky. 6-8 is more likely. 2-3 hrs a few nights a week. I don't think that's too excessive. probably 90% of that is usually BF2.

Well you are obvuoisly having issues with games/gaming, as this is your 2nd thread about the problems/dislikes of your hobby. I have been gaming for years. But when i get tired of games, i take a break for a while. I have never dreamed of a video game, and I asked my roomate who has played counter strike competitively since 2000, and he has never dreamed of games either. What I am saying is: maybe there is an underyling problem with your gaming habits.

Maybe you're looking too closely into something that isn't there. Of course saying you never dreamed of something is kind of like saying you don't remember being an infant. 99.9% of it is repressed memories. You only recall dreams if you wake up immediately after them.

Not only that, just because one person isn't affected doesn't mean everyone else isn't. Dreams are pretty much unexplained by any degree, so I don't think "asking your friend" qualifies as a psychiatric diagnosis.

This isn't an issue either, I just thought it was funny. Go from being a nightmare (nothing related to Prototype) to something that got me out of the nightmare because I was tired of it. Kind of funny.

Not only that, what else am I going to do during my "free time" from 8pm - midnight. It's either homework, watching TV or movie, browsing the web, or playing games.

I had a dream about playing Prototype, and I haven't even played it yet...weird. I think it's just because I'm so bored over here, and don't have any free time that my brain wants to play games when I'm sleeping. If your brain doesn't get enough mental activity it gets bored and creates interesting dreams.

Try treating it as a one-off and forgetting about it, if you don't experience a repeat then there's no need to worry about it.

Happens to me too when I play the same game over and over, it doesn't even have to be for a long time. I had the same experience with Ocarina of Time and also with Pokemon... My most recent experience was with Mass Effect and my sister started having dreams about the Sims 3 lately... It happens when you get to focused on the game, you don't even have to be playing the game for hours to an end... I dream about novels too :D

I generally have dreams involving Angelina Jolie so I enjoy even the nightmares :p (except when wife wakes up and realizes what Im dreaming about, then gives me a proper slap in my sleep...)
Mind you, it took years of practice to develop this skill...

A friend and I both had WoW dreams when we used to play,

I had a L4D dream recently where a tank was chasing me, now that was a nightmare

the worst one I've had was a Max Payne'ish dream where I was constantly on the run with sirens sounding off in a distance, and that state of constant panic and paranoia and being alone against the world was terrible. That one made me wake up, drenched in my own sweat
