I just wanted to tell you lads, that I got this game yesterday and am having the most fun time I have EVER had on a computer game... It really is fantastic and want to shout it from the roof tops but I feel uncomfortable about recommending it to half the people on my friends lists (ie. steam, etc)
It is incredibly gory, i love that fact. I mean I am the kind of guy that gets all hot and bothered blowing the heads and legs off zombies in Left4Dead and Killing Floor. But there should be a blood/gore toggle for those sensitive players shouldnt there?
If I am not sure about the age of someone or just cant remember how old they are, how should I recommend this game to them because of that implicit gore?

Just tell them that it's very fun and has lots of gore. It shouldn't be too hard - people won't get offended by that.

Im finding it much more fun than GTA4 so far, and it feels very similar except I can run faster than the cars lol.
While it has gore I really dont personally thing its that bad, blood is everywhere these days from cartoons to movies.
I think the sexual stuff, bad language, and drug related stuff you find all over GTA4 is much worse, and most of what is on TV is bad too.
If you really want to see brutal senseless violence go youtube some gameplay videos of Mad World for the Wii -

i also gotta run to youtube now to check that video. but still, telling youngens that its gory and you cut people in half isnt exactly gonna stop em...

i have been playing this for a few days and i love it to bits,
runs so smooth and fluid as well, really well made game
a rarity nowadays me thinks -
Other than that, this is so much fun I want to weep! -
I agree with all comments about this game. It is one of the first games for the PC in a long time that I was actually proud to spend my hard earned cash on. It is so much fun. I wonder how Infamous will compare now.

I was expecting Prototype to be another GTA4 clone. It is similar in the approach to the sandbox city, but beyond that, it's all in its own world.

Haven't tried this, however I am playing Dark Sector
Read about this a lot when it was released for PS3 and 360, and then forgot about it. I recently found it for the pc and picked it up
I get a smooth 60fps @native res and looks good also, so another well optimized port recently.
Can't wait to try prototype -
I don't like gta4 but this is a great game, didn't expect it to be this fun
Prototype recommendation
