Its a must buy in my opinion. It is more expensive on Steam so I just purchased a cheaper CD version from Amazon. This is one game that I can't see myself uninstalling even after I completed it because it is so much fun.

Agreed. For me it will probably be like GTA4, even after beating it I'll still want to play every once in a while because you can still just go around killing and destroying things.

It is much more than a sandbox, in no other game do you get to be such a total and all powerful ( the... it got censored). All of the other super hero games that I have played, I always got the feeling that I was never tough enough considering what powers I had and I always felt like I was a slightly watered down ''superhero''.

It was like they limited my strength so even though you had super strength, it didn't really make all that difference because you could find yourself being killed by a normal guy throwing a few punches. I sometimes felt that I could be defeated by a Granny's handbag.

Then take a look at Prototype where you are a true super human being. You can toss cars or tanks at helicopters like they were dolls, drag people up buildings, use people as projectile weapons, smash up vehicles and tanks with your bare hands, run up the walls of buildings, use yourself as a cannonball and too much more to mention.

I noticed that while walking down the street, a car crashed into me, became dented with me left unharmed. Merely walking into cars turns them upside down or damages them sometimes. In this game, you are all powerful, your powers are not watered down and you feel just like a super hero should feel, super human.

I would say that although sometimes Alex reminds me of Carnage / Venom, he more reminds me of of Hancock.

LOL! Nice one. I'll have to remember that.

I usually don't like these kinds of games, but I'm having a good time. My fingers hurt from mashing the keyboard too hard. I have to remember that I don't need to. Maybe I need to get out the X360 controller.

And also LOL @ the Popeye Chicken. Where did THAT come from? That was quite hilarious. There must be tons of easter eggs out there too.

I have found that just messing around in the game sandbox environment is not only pure fun, I found myself causing mayhem and escaping swat teams so that I could earn upgrades like the shield, sprint and grab, jump higher etc.

In GTA IV, I always enjoyed avoiding missions and just playing around in the sandbox but it never really had any rewards that could affect the actual game. Even GTA SA rewarded you with stat upgrades.

In Prototype, now that I have earned upgrades, I can use new powers in the other new missions. For example, being able to sprint faster to avoid your enemies, quickly grab a person on the way and run up a building out of harms way so you can consume them is great!

That mission was a pain, not much room to move and those hunters can kill in like 3 hits if they get hard hits in.

Just 1 was hard and I was like meh its a boss, then like 2 of them came down and I was like .... hmmm ok.

Then when it was like 8, I was like your kidding right?

Throwing stuff at them was the only real damage, attacks were so weak. I had to run and consume the military guys over and over again to keep alive.

Be careful, the game can become really addictive. When you get more powers, you find yourself carrying cars and trucks up buildings, throwing random people around, jumping of roof tops landing on tanks and fly kicking helicopters just for the hell of it. Before you know it, all time has gone and you have forgotten about all of the other games you used to play on your laptop.

the flying kick is annoying to me, it triggers as your attack when running so you have to stop first to use your combo attacks, atleast thats how it was for me when I was using the blades for the first time.

My biggest issue so far is being able to stomp on tanks. I always jump FORWARD, even if I'm standing still, and jump OVER the tank. Plus I can't seem to get a view downwards so I can target the tank. Oh well, just will have to play some more.

The game is pure chaos though. It's hard to stand back and try new things without being attacked.

I had a hard time believing it was real, but you never know. For one the video was done really well, and there's really odd easter eggs in games these days.

That would be great if there were mod tools though so you could make your own characters with these "insight" videos. The mod options to this would be endless. It would be great if there was an expansion with more powers, and in a different setting like on a mars colony or something.

The other thing that is hard is targeting, you want to target on of the 50 guys shooting you but you always end up targeting a person instead or the wrong mob.

Yeah targeting can get hard when there are so many people on screen, even with the the 360 controller (which I use), but its all right I just end up killing everyone lol.

I have maxed out Jump, Glide, and Airboost Skills, and I can pretty much fly, I <3 this game.

I'm pretty close to finishing... I love how the progression of the came is, I'm really close to being almost "God Like"... I have pretty much everything Maxed out in upgrades, and the story really picks up near the end.... I just can't believe how many Web of Intirgue targets and videos there are!!!! They clearly put alot of time and effort into this game I'm really enjoying it... My only complaint is really the lack of enemies (hunters and Super soldiers) are really the only threat... and I would have loved to see a multiplayer mode even if it was only a race or versus in a small area

To the op I refuse to buy a xbox360 controller from m$ thats such a scam with their windows live bs.
I use xpadder to map the keyboard/mouse to my own gamepad (used my ps3 controller here on vista64)

I have a wirelsss PC Xbox 360 controller and it works great with many of my PC games and emulators. I also have an official PS2 controller with a PS2 to PC USB adapter and a wireless Logitech PS2 Controller. They work well for gaming and emulation.

Im far enough now in the game I have the highjack chopper skill finally and the blade form and stuff.

Suddnely the game lost some appeal I think, the fights are not stratigic its just spam from hell of missles and things and non stop choppers and tanks.

You cant have fun beating stuff up, your only way to live more than 5 seconds is to highjack an armor or chopper and thats boring, and all the new skills cost hundreds of thousands of points so your farming like heck to get them, and many of the skills are just like ones you already had.

let drop, elbow drop, fist drop, common they are all the same.... lol

So I hope the game gets a bit better here soon, the part I am at now isn't nearly as much fun as the first half was.

Its not a scam, sure xpadder, pinnicle, glovepie, and many other programs can map a controller for gaming but the xbox 360 controller is plug & play, has the buttons as part of the OSD for almost any games for windows game, and its also hands down just one of the best controllers in all feel/layout/quality.

I use my Wiimote to game often, and also have my own home made joysticks, so dont think I just took the easy way out and assume its best.

I'd rather have a map showing them all, but i've found over half of the blue and over half of the purple/pink. Once you find one in one area, if you look around you'll find a few more.

no the reason it's a scam is bc many games dont work with other gamepads with "games for windows" the only option is the xbox controller from microsoft prototype/prince of persia/dead space/etc.
The reason the xbox controller is plug and play and others are not is bc microsoft made games incompatable (by normal means) with all other gamepads with their "games for windows" trash.
