You can download and try the benchmark and create a character. You can grab it on the pso2 site.

So I installed the game and I got an error. I used the checker and it said my laptop doesn't support avx. What is avx and is there anything I can do about this? Or am I forced to buy a new computer?

Avx is an over 10 year old instruction set, you'd need to get something more recent

As mentioned, Intel CPUs since Sandy Bridge have included the AVX instruction set, so you need something more recent. There may be a workaround for your CPU’s lack of AVX support, I suggest checking PCGamingWiki for your particular game.
