I just bought and installed Battlefield Bad Company 2 and now I can't stay on a server for 5 minutes without getting kicked for some PunkBuster issue..at first it was kicking me because I needed to update it and I did that and now its kicking me for this. I've searched the internet far and wide but I couldn't seem to find a solution.

    See system specs below

Seems its your optimus tech causing the issue. I looked for awhile, but I found no solution to your problem. Well, I guess there is a solution, but it requires that you update your gfx drivers with an old version, and then BC2 will work, but some other games won't work. It thread talks about rolling back to the old 189. series nvidia drivers.

Punkbuster doesn't play well with Optimus, and the PB people have pretty much openly refused to fix the issue :(

So I basically wasted 20 bucks? Great,

right now BC2 is the only game I play online. Would there be anything wrong with swapping out the drivers whenever I want to play something other then BC2? and if I can do that would there be a fast way?

the only old NVIDIA driver I can find is the 197...how can i find the 189?

So is nVidia or PB that's at fault? If it works with older nVidia drivers and not new then I see nVidia changing something. Although with Optimus being a newer tech and PB a small company, one would think PB would try to at least offer a solution.

I just opened a support ticket with EvenBalance and they got back to me right away. They told me their not going to fix the issue, but gave me a link to a thread from october on Nvidia's forums saying that they knew the issue and they were going to fix it in an upcoming update. so maybe the next driver update will fix this? cause PB, even though it is a ridiculous reason to kick, shouldn't really be at fault. this is nobodys fault just two things not mixing well together.

but anyone know when we can expect to see another driver update? I'm not exactly sure how often they come around
