    Quite simple really,

    Windows 7 64bit,
    Wanting to play battlefield 2142,
    Punkbuster (YUK)

Punkbuster refuses to install, it does not stick itself in the services or anything, which effectively means i get kicked after like 30 seconds of play :(.

Does anyone know how to activate punkbuster on 7?

If PB is installed, but not running in the background, go to "C:\Windows\System32", double click on "PnkBstrA.exe" to run it, check "Processes" in task manager to make sure.

Once that's running, run PBSetup again, update the game, reboot.
Once computer is restarted, check Task Manager to see if "PnkBstrA.exe" is running in Process tab, if not, manually add "PnkBstrA.exe" to the "Start-up" folder, so it will be launched automatically.

Hmmm... that's weird, so you are saying that "PnkBstrA.exe" isn't even in "C:\Windows\System32" directory?

Ok, disable User Control Access (lowest level), reboot. Right click pbsetup, and run it with Admin right, and see if it installs or not.

Well, i know for a fact that the microphone test seems to crash allot on Vista and 7, just go to task mamanger and shut the damn program and the install will proceed as usual.
    Then update Punkbuster from net.
