Hi I just wanted to know if my quadro fx 570M on my compaq 8510w notebook has purevideo/purevideo HD technology? I have heard that the 7 and 8 series geforce cards do (I think) and the 570M, if I'm not mistaken, is very similar to the 8400M? Anyway, I just wanted to know. Thanks

The Quadro FX570M is basically a GeForce 8600M GT.

Probably if one were to install a GeForce driver into the FX 570m the FX 570m would then be coded for purevideo. The driver is all about the coding. The GPU in the FX 570m and 8600m GT are the same. The FX 570m seems to be configured better for more demanding 3D applicaitons for which it was designed.

ok well I am using the 169.04 drivers from video2go (i think) with the modded inf file etc. I believe this driver is for geforce? How do I know purevideo is working? And whether it is purevideo HD? thanks

Play a HD h.264 encoded file.. If the CPU usage is low, the graphics card is handling the job... Otherwise you'd see a CPU usage of at least 50%..

Well I played this file here. It is a "I am Legend" trailer. I saw that my cpu (vista sidebar gadget) was above 50% for almost the whole trailer. How can I activate purevideo/purevideo HD?

What is your CPU? ARe you on high performance mode?

When I'm watching a 1080p video, I gotta be on high performance mod and my CPU has both core ~60% and my video card is heating like crazy

Nvidia's website says that the Quadros have Purevideo HD enabled.Still, I haven't used any mobile dx10 Quadro card.. So I can't be sure.. A 50% CPU usage with a T7700 is above normal, though , in my opinion...

Ok great so we've confirmed that all quadro's have purevideo HD. So do I need to activate it at all or will it already be functional?

It should already be functional.. If the card supports it, and Nvidia lists it, then drivers probably support it already..
