    Hello,

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop with this ATI GPU. So I have a few questions about this 200M GPU. First I read this article from ATI and thought that with this chipset and with the IGP I should be fine, but no. I found out from ATI's Control Center that this graphics card is based on PCI, not AGP or PCIe and the memory and core speeds are very low (200 and 250 MHz). Am I getting this right, that this ATI's integrated graphics really suck. I tried to benchmark Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, the timedemo ran in slow motion and I got to admit that my old Pentium III with GF 5200 ran the game many times better than this new laptop. Maybe it makes something better to increase the RAM to 1GB or maybe I've done something wrong, I don't know. Any comments or advice? :(

The ATI X200M GPU is the best integrated video solution currently, but it's still not as good as today's dedicated solutions, even low-end like the X300. Increasing the RAM will help, but it will only take you this far.

Right, the ATI X200M is the top-of the-line integrated GPU, but it doesn't compare to a dedicated card in terms of performance. Don't expect to get blazing performance, basic 3D only.

You can increase the RAM, and if it has 128MB shared, then 1GB should be good.

Laptops with the X200M graphics aren't designed for gaming.

Thanks for the answers. Upgrading to 1GB A.S.A.P.

I have this card and play BF2, Doom 3, Painkiller, UT2004, POP:The 2 Thrones, CS:S/HL2, NFS:Most Wanted, etc. with no problem. I have found that anytime you see a whole lot of any type of particles/water I get a drop in FPS. I play these games on medium settings (except doom 3 and BF2) and have no problem. I have UMA + Sideport (128mb dedicated + 128mb Shared) enabled and 1.5GB of RAM.

This card is definitely the best IGP out there, in my opinion it is designed for gaming, because to some gamers (me included) eye-candy is non-essential. Just my opinion tho! :)
    .....Hope this helps

So it seems, that I just have to get more RAM.
PS. Which drivers are you using, mtrivs?

Yeah, that´s something I would like to know, can you upgrade the driver of the xpress 200m like you upgrade normal desktop video card drivers?
Where do you get them? At ATI´s? Are they specially made for the 200m or is the normal catalyst?
Which is the best you people tried for the 200m?

You can download the latest Mobility Catalyst drivers from ATI - check the software forum, there's a link in there.
