I've checked the board and can't seem to find any information on the process of getting the consumer (geforce go?) drivers to work on professional (quadro) mobile cards. What steps are needed, are special drivers needed, or just the ones from the nvidia site, and is there a greater risk of breaking something than there is with any other normal driver update?

    Thanks in advance.

Just go to laptopvideo2go.com and download the latest drivers from there.

    Thanks.

Do the old drivers need to be uninstalled first?

Yes, there's a whole process to do so. There's a thread on here on how to properly do that, but I can sum it up for you.

Uninstall the drivers thru Control Panel. Restart. Then use driver cleaner pro (can be downloaded for free) to clean up the drivers. Restart again. Install new drivers and then finally restart your computer.

The site said no, I didn't and my game performance went up (vista performance for Aero from 3.1 to 3.3). However, my CAD performance (solidworks for example) went down quite a bit, suddenly my cad stuff was laggy. It was so bad I switched back and now i'm happy again.

Thanks for the info. Do I need to mess around with the modified .inf file at all? I've read some of the threads on this board by people claiming they had to, to prevent the professional quadro drivers from being installed.

Yup, you just have to download the modded .inf and paste it over the original one. This will allow the drivers to install on a quadro card. Worked perfectly for my nvs140m.

Yeah I got that part, but do I need to edit anything in the modified inf file itself?

Nope, the modified inf file is already modified to work right, hence the name.

So you can either modify your existing inf, or download the modified one and copy it over your original one.

Actually, depending on the specific driver you may indeed need to modify the LaptopVideo2Go driver yourself. PM me if it doesn't work out or you need more info.
