Hi,
I have HP 8710w laptop with FX3600m in it and the vga keeps crashing (black screen with looping sound or crash to desktop > 4bit colors and 640x res) in some games:
- GTA4 - after few minutes or doesn't start at all (depending on drivers)
- Mass Effect - sometimes I can play for 30mins, sometimes couple of mins and then it crashes (with some drivers doesn't start at all)
- Fallout 3 - played this one with currently installed drivers 182.08 from nVidia (specifically made for quadro cards, got it at laptopvideo2go) everything was fine while I was still in the Voult, but as soon I got out - crash
- Burnout Paradise - seems to run ok with stock drivers, but with everything else - crash after 1-15min depending on drivers
- UT3 - runs great with HP's drivers and current drivers, but doesn't even get to menu with everything else.
Games like Left4Dead, TDU, Dead Space, COD4 and 5 run great on any drivers.
My question: is it just dirver's problems or it could also be hardware defect? Should I try to install Vista64?
My specs:
WinXP SP3 (32bit)
T9500 @ 2.6GHz 6MB L2 800FSB
nVidia QuadroFX3600 512MB GDDR3
2x2GB DDR2 667
Seagate 200GB 7200
p.s. I tried about 12 different drivers, both HP's official and modded from laptopvideo2go.
Thanks for the help
