Hmm, looks interesting. The graphics are certainly pretty nice, but I generally wasn't that impressed with the gameplay in DooM 3. I hope they've been able to dedicate their time to gameplay here.

I seem to be one of a very few who really enjoyed Doom 3. It was the only game that ever truly gave me chills. I found it to be far more entertaining than Half-Life 2. I'll definitely be buying Quake 4. What better way to spend the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays?

have u ever played Cold Fear??...i've played it and it was one of the scariest games that i have ever played
....and for Doom 3...i haven't played it yet...but i've heard a lot of good things about it...and i might get it real soon

I have started to play cold fear, when i came out. I didnt like the ccontrols, that reminded me too much of those good ol' Resident Evil days. The games were good, but the controls always sucked. I wasn't a huge fan of the game, but if you like resident evil, you will like this game!
-
yah, i'll give that one a try sometime too -
-
no problemo jack

Im getting my ASUS z70v w/ the x600 tonight so Im going to put on doom 3 and see how well I can get it to run.
(I can get it to run with a ati 9600 128mb card really well on medium settings and pretty good resolution so it should do fine) -
-
yup..i think at www.download.com ....type in "doom 3"...and i think it should b the 1st 1...it's 400 sumthing MB tho

Just windering, if my laptop has a 128Mb x600 with HyperMemory (Hence it uses another 128 of your system RAM to make it 256MB), will it be faster than another fren's who has the same spec laptop but only has 64mb x700?
Just wonderingClick to expand...Click to expand... -

sooo???...i think there's a setting 2 turn blood off if u want..but then that makes the game feel soo much different

Just tried the doom3 demo.
I can't get it playable at 1024x768 with medium settings.
800x600 at medium runs fine though -

I have an ATi Mobility Radeon X700 in my laptop, and I have no problem playing through the demo at 1024x768 and "High" settings. I get 45-50fps average.
Yeah, the X700 is a kick-butt card. It has 8 pixel pipes and 6 vertex engines, and they really help in shader intensive games like HALO and Far Cry.
Quake 4 screenshots!
