I think the Quake Wars Beta is opened to everyone now, plus there is a new map available for everyone.
the keys might actually still be limited, im not sure, but you can grab a key now, so you might want to check it out quickly if you are interested.

SWEETTTT Im downloading it as we speak. Last One, i downloaded it, but i didnt get a CD key, they were all out.
-
Lol Link, i wasnt sure either (they had only desktop cards) so i put X1600, but from what ive heared from some of my clan mates on CS:S is that it is just as insensive as Quake 4.
-
Hell, i just put in my desktops specs, but accidentaly click nvidia (other)
-
Awesome, thanks for the heads up. Can't wait to play this thing.
*remembers why he abhors FilePlanet* Stupid lines...
Anyone else think it's odd that the Core 2 Duo wasn't included on the list of CPU's? I bet a large majority of the people wanting to play this thing are on desktop (or mobile, like me) C2D's, but nary a mention? I selected "Core Duo" and it went through fine, whatev'. -

yeah i was playing 1440x900 with everything on high on my laptop. it isn't that intensive, which is a good thing!
-
I just but a core duo for it, just because fileplanet is retarted does not mean i don't wnat ot play quake wars
-
Master Chief, How would you say that i will be running it. I run Quake 4 1280*768 (or something like that) and Medium Graphics.
-
I tried it for a bit today but it didn't perform up to my expectations so i un-installed it.

I might need to update my drivers or something -
When I first tried to play, I got an OpenGL error, but after some searching I found out it was because of my TweaksRUs drivers and something to do with DXT1 and DXT3 texture compression. I solved it by using RivaTuner to uncheck "Compress to DXT3 instead of DXT1", which probably does something horrible to my performance, but it made the game work...
It plays very well. 1920x1200 on the default "High" settings, and averaging about 30-40 FPS. *hugs his new laptop just for being awesome*
Haven't played it long enough to see if the game itself is any good or not. -
I remember why I despise Fileplanet/Gamespy ... only subscriber keys remain.
Does anyone know how it runs on a 8600 GT? -

I was in the original beta for the game, and if I remember correctly it was missing a lot of the high res textures then to make the download smaller, might still be the same. Unless the game has significantly changed, I won't be playing it again.
I'm a fileplanet subscriber, annually, I think it's worth it. Gamespot annually as well, also feel it's worth it -
-
I don't see how their could have been without downloading more information. I surely never heard of it, either way graphics/how it ran had nothing to do with what I thought about the game.
I just didn't like how the game played. -
o noo....i want to play so bad...
boo hooo. only subscriber -
If someone reminds me I might be able to get someone a key, as I am a subscriber I could get a key.
-
can u get me a key? pretty please =]
-
Sure why not. Not like I want. I'll PM it.
