Hi, if you are reading this and have purchased the game and are currently playing it i have a few questions if you don't mind giving me some feedback before i buy the game --
1. how is the online community? servers full?
2. is there 64 player support yet?
3. how are the classes -- is the strogg and the humans equal? is it easy to get a grasp on the classes?
4. how would you compare this game to battlefield 2142? (IF YOU'VE PLAYED IT)
5. are the maps better than that darn demo map?
6. should i buy this game?
if u can answer these questions for me it would help me a lot in purchasing this game or not - i really would love to get some honest answers. +rep for anyone that can help me out, i just dont want to buy this game since there are so many hot pc games out right now!

okey i bought the game and played 1hrs.damn graphic is crap so i stop playing.i'll not playe in future.

The demo shouldve already showed you if there is balance between GDF and strogg.
If the demo didnt show you if it was easy to grasp on the classes and if the darn demo map wasnt so good, then NO, dont buy this game.
Get bioshock, ut3, crisis or jericho. -
1. how is the online community? servers full?
Dont know..never tried..
2. is there 64 player support yet?
Not sure..havent seen 64 player maps
3. how are the classes -- is the strogg and the humans equal? is it easy to get a grasp on the classes?
eh?..i've only played human, and the controls are pretty wobbly
4. how would you compare this game to battlefield 2142? (IF YOU'VE PLAYED IT)
bf2142 is definitely better
5. are the maps better than that darn demo map?
not by that much..but there are pretty interesting vehicles though

In all honesty, try the W:ET game. Its free, its relatively light (<500 MB IIRC), and although dated, will give you a feel for the gameplay of the ET franchise. My advice is to look for a server with a strong community, such as the BnB servers (an excellent clan with a strong community base). It will give you a feel for what ET:QW can and will be with the advent of more mods and more clans. -

First off, this game is a complete rip off from Battlefield 2142. The difference is that ETQW just added some more things into the game, making it more complex. >.<

That's not entirely true... The ET and BF franchises have been seperate since the beginning.
In fact, it's blatantly false- Battlefield 1942 was released in 2002, while Return to Castle Wolfenstien, the jumping-off point for the Enemy Territory franchise (through the Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory game which was later released as a stand-alone in 2003) was released in 2001. If anything, the BF franchise is a copy of the ET franchise.
Even if you take into account Codename Eagle (Which you really can't, seeing the huge disparity between CE and BF) you can make the argument that BF is a rip off of Quake/QuakeWorld anyway, seeing that Quake pioneered over-the-internet multiplayer.
Such logic is not only false, it is self-defeating. BF is NOT a copy of ET, nor vice versa. They are distinct games with distinct feels and distinct fan bases. -
thanks those who helped me out

haha no problem

Battlefield 2142 and ET:QW both feel like unfinished mods or something. It seems like ETQW has more depth and teamwork added to the mix, and the deployables make it alot more fun than the BF series.

To me the game is just uber wunderbar!
My post is purely addressed to the OP. The way he describe it, it most probably seems that the game is not what he wants or expect it should be. So to avoid him waisting his money I advised him to stay away.
And like I said, if the demo didnt impress him at all, then dont buy it!
ET vs BF?
You could compare them I guess, but ET is more Quakestyle groundpounders hardcore fragging. While BF is more focussed on vehicles and heavy bombing. Or at least what I saw with bf1942. I like the hardcore fragging more
Ok, now for some history info
I can still remember the day the RtCW_mp demo rolled out with only 1 map, mp_beach. Man, that was so addictive!! Played several weeks, several hours a day just 1 map
But then W:ET came out, omg! I spent 2+ years playing that! I was clanleader and we participated in clanbase euro ladder 6v6. Our best score was 6th or 7th (i cant remember anymore) on a ladder with 200+ clans from all over Europe. Those were the days!

Oh god... I still play W:ET, despite having started playing on an 845GM and currently using an 8600M GT through 3 graphics card purchases
. Those were the times, scrambling through Venice, or even the fairly new (and amazing) Baserace... The Mods made W:ET, that's for sure. Even so, the stock maps were amazing... Fueldump was exquisite in every way.
True Combat Elite was an amazing mod... As were the numerous other mods, including ones as simple as Jaymod to ones as diverse as No Quarter and Star Wars. Even talking about it makes me want to fire it up again and jump on a random server to start fragging. Pity that my new computer has x64- bit compatibility issues with the 32-bit W:ET, so I can only play on unmodded stock pub servers.
