Hi, I have a really weird problem:
The first thing I did when I got my Dell XPS 15 9530 (Intel i7-4702HQ 2.2-3.2Ghz, 16GB RAM, GT 750M) was running Quakelive. I easily got 250fps. Well after some app installing, connecting external display etc, I wanted to start it again and had a lot of troubles:
Quakelive on external display via HDMI will not run with GPU although I set it so in the nvidia settings. Only when changing "Always use NVIDIA GPU" it will run with the GPU. How ever, even then I will not get 250fps (only 125fps). I tried to run the game again on my laptops screen... only 125fps. 2 hours ago I easily had constant 250fps. Whats going on ?
Any ideas? I believe NVIDIA Optimus technology is bugging around.
@edit: Basically the game runs fine in window mode with 250 fps but as soon as I go into fullscreen it starts lagging. Window & Fullscreen mode are set to the same resolution.

Nvidia control pannel and go to force it to use the dgpu
-
I did that. And according to the ingame command "R_lastvalidrender" I am using the dgpu. Also the nvidia icon says that the game runs with the dgpu.
In window mode I get 250 fps. When I go back to fullscreen it needs to "load the game again" (kinda like vid_restart) which I never had before when switching between window/fullscreen.
In fullscreen mode I don't even get constant 125fps.
Fullscreen & window mode have the same resolution.
Running QL in Windows 7 compatibility mode seemed to help a little.. I am now at ~150fps - 200 fps (fullscreen).. but window mode still has constant and smooth 250fps. -

Why does it matter, you are getting over 150fps? thats faster than your screen refresh rate anyway.

Because it will still result in a smoother gameplay will less tearing. Besides higher fps gives u a little advantage due to the game engine.
Quakelive uses Intel HD 4600 instead of GT 750M ? And even with GT 750M only 125 fps?
