When you start atiTool tool and you scan for artifacts, do you need to sit at the computer and watch it for an hour for artifacts or will it tell you? I ask this because I'm in the process of OC'ing my GPU and I saw artifacts start appearing as yellow squares on the 3d cube, but the artifact scan just kept running without reporting any errors.

This seems weird to me since there is text in the window with the 3d cube that says: "No errors for: xxxxxTime" (the x's are however long the program was running).

Here's another problem I'm having with ATItool.... when I click "Find Max Mem" it took my mobile hd2600 (500/600) all they way up to 1008mhz and no artifacts were showing and then my computer just got curbstomped by a BSOD. I will not believe the memory on my mobile hd2600 will run at 1008mhz without any artifacts. Has anyone used atiTool .27beta4? Is it working properly?

For your first question. You need to know exactly when you started because... the moment AtiTool detects an artifact it will 'beep' and reset the timer to zero. So... if you set it and left for 1 hour and you find the counting time is less than that, then at least AtiTool found 1 artifact (or more).

As for your 2nd question, I have never trusted to max memory finding options, it is better to explore oneself always increasing little by little.

    I hope it helps.
