Hi guys, i heard that upgrading from windows xp to windows vista the gaming performance of the system drops of almost 15-20% less...someone say that is caused by loading aero interface permanently in ram...but my question is, disable aero or turning off it(i dont' know how) improve 3d performance in games?
    Thanks!

Definitely turn off Aero when playing games. One way to do this is to right-click on your desktop icon/start menu application and go to the compatibility tab. Check the option "disable desktop composition" to ensure Aero stays off when you're playing.

Windows Sidebar is also a memory sink so close that too before games. With both tweaks game performance should be better than before but I don't think it will be comparable to XP.
