Okay, so I've been hearing all this chatter about the 8800m GTX, which is looking to be a monster notebook card. I know its going to be built on the G92 core with 35W power consumption, but I think I remember seeing somewhere that it will be offered in 15.4" notebooks. Is this true, or am I making up things in my head? I think I saw it on alienware or something. If so, will this be the first time a 15.4 incher gets an enthusiast level card?

Yeah, it's going to be offered on the Alienware m15x 15.4'' notebook.
That's a first, if I remember correctly. So yes. -
Yes, no, and yes
-
AW seems to smash the competition with this...
The m15x will be the world first 15.4 laptop with an enthusiast GPU . And at a pretty decent price. -
Will a single 8800GTX be better than 8700mGT SLi? I'm thinking of upgrading to it when I can.

although I think a 8800 a bit overkill for a 15.4 inch, at least with a 1440x900 screen (unless all next games are like cysis, then it would be ok even on a 1280x800 screen
-
Uhm, you know just because it's a 15.4"er doesn't mean it isn't thick and heavy, unless somewhere on there you got the dimensions and weight.
The thing could be as tall as a skyscraper, but still be 15.4" -
IS there a possibility for it to be MXM-II???
-
who knows... but I HIGHLY doubt it..
-
i think it is a 8800m GS...you know like the low power consuming 7900gs, for the 15 inch laptop...just my thought...maybe it actually will be the full fledged 8800m GTX...only a few more days and we will know
-
Thats really crazy...
I think alienware is going to have a busy holiday season. -
-
My fingers are crossed Dell get nvidia to make cards for their systems. That way,Inspiron/xps owners just might have an upgrade option, although we might need bigger power bricks LOL..
A guy can dream... -
i don't think there will be an 8800m gs since that would probably be equivalent to 8700mgt and thus pointless. Most likely 8800m gtx will perform better than 8700m in sli since it ill have 256 bit and can utilize all of its memory properly. Combine that with 80+ transistors and good shader/core clocks and you probably won't even need two.
Question about 8800m GTX...
