    So, just wondering if anyone knows of an app or some command that allows for some kind of flycam for hl2: ep2, I want to make a short video using fraps or something, but i dont wanna have it all in first person, would like some third and other point of view :) thanks

    You could always use "noclip" to fly and "cl_enablehud 0" to disable the hud (change the 0 to a 1 to re enable it) for a nuncluttered shot. Enter these commands in the console without the quotes after using "sv_cheats 1" to enable cheats.

    Did valve even make a figure for gordon freeman?

    I have a feeling your third person would have no freeman at all if you wanted to see him.

    if you purchase garrys mod (an hl2 sandbox editor) which is like 9.99 on steam, you can edit any hl2 game and any mod based off of hl2 (like tf2) levels nearly any way you want (and i mean any way... AI, weapon scripts, triggers, NPCs, structures, vehicles, physics, and there are thousands of addons) and play them. you can add a video camera wherever you want in the game and record from there. there is a skin for gordon freeman for gmod. you would have much more control making some movie through gmod, though, you will need to learn how to set things up.

    wow this Gmod, sounds really cool what kind of addons are thier that can improve the game, like different weapons, enemies or anything.

    No, there is no model for Freeman b/c the whole game was designed to make the player feel like the character. All you will see is a pair of arms.

    In Quake 3 there was a command called cg_thirdperson 1 , if I remember correctly, and Q3 was in direct competition with HL1, wich I think also had a command.
    HL2 might have a command like that also: thirdperson but some people reported that it`s not working.I don`t have my HL2 dvd anywhere to test it...but give that a try.
