I'm going to wait a few months for spore to go down in price. Wondering if there will be any online issues with it if I buy it used.

I would not suggest getting Spore used due to EA's DRM because if they original owner installed Spore three times it can not be installed again without contacting EA Customer Support.

PC games usually don't stay at MSRP for more than 2 months ;)

If you're willing to wait a few months (especially after the X-mas season is over) you can probably pick up a new copy for $15-20.

EA's usual game is to release an expanded/Gold/GoTY/etc edition after the holidays and deeply discount the original.

Yes. People who haven't heard of, or know how to use, a phone or email are out of luck.

People who enjoy calling India to beg to use stuff they already bought from people who barely speak English and are under no obligation to accommodate them, however, have hit the lottery!

i would not buy spore as it isn't entertaining after one go round. this game would have appealed to me if i was much younger, like 10 or so, only because it's really childish. the game is far too easy, though innovative in some ways, but it isn't worth buying.

it almost seems like a demo of what could possibly be a fun game, howeverm spore isn't all that great.

you can burn time though if you like to use the editor and create models of stuff; other than that, you shouldn't waste money on this one.

You can't buy Spore used. If you do, you won't have access to the online features. The key gets tied to a particular user account and cannot be transferred.

I would recommend borrowing (or doing the 'p' word) the game first, trying it out, and then buying only if you like it. You'll be able to find out if the game is right for you pretty quickly. It shouldn't take more than a day or two. If you like it you can buy it, and if you don't then just delete it. The creature creator is not an accurate demo of the game by any stretch of the imagination.

Personally, I paid full price and feel ripped off. It's not a terrible game, but it has very little lasting appeal on top of being rather shallow and repetitive. It was a breath of fresh air and initially entertaining, but that wore off pretty quickly unfortunately. It doesn't have one of those "easy to play, hard to master" type designs like Sim City and some other games have.

I heard this game was not so great and left a lot to be desired.
