Hey guys
EDIT: I am not sure if it's the right section but i am sorry if it isn't.
I have a laptop with Core I7-4712HQ
When i bought my laptop it came with Win8.1. i was able to undervolt the CPU -86 mV using XTU.
i tested it for days on a lot of benchmarks "AIDA64, XTU, Prime95, cinnabench, geekbench, etc" and it was stable.
I changed the thermal paste and the system became unstable i was able to undervolt to only -70 mV, made the tests and it's stable
Now i upgraded to Win 10 and the CPU isn't stable on -70 mV! the laptop powers off when i try to apply my profile. using XTU 6.0.2.2
Any idea what's causing this weird behavior?

I know for certain different versions of windows have different tolerances of overclocking and undervolting, but maybe your chip is just degrading? Have you tried getting say -50mV stable with Win 10?
-
Made a benchmark test and it passed
Is it possible for cpu to degrade? The laptop is 4 months old only
I am not even overclocking for long term usage. It's just for fun and benchmarks scores and just changing multipliers and core voltage offset
Edit: it didn't pass on -60 mV.. From -85 to under -60 mV. Sad

I'm not sore how fast it can degrade or not. All I know is that the OS might have an influence on what's acceptable for undervolts/etc. What can I say?
Just see how low you can go. Anything -30mV or better is still desirable to you.AhmedouviX likes this. -
Okay another question, Are these settings can be harmful the CPU or the laptop? specially the processor current limit

nope. I will mention cache undervolting can cause crashes easier than core undervlting and you should try lowering that first

Thanks!
What about the processor cache ratio .. how much should I decrease it so it dosen't affect the performance?

Play around and see if there's any difference or if it is negligible.

Cache ratio is mostly negligible, but keep it as high as you can. 30x or 32x should be no issue at all for you though.
