Ok currently i have an Asus G50vt-x5 worst thing i've ever gotten. Parents got it from bestbuy even though the entire time i was told sager was what i was goign to get. Now here's the specs to compare. I'm goign to this time around with loans come in i'm going to get a new notebook as this one's killing me. How i got my specs was by using various softwares. Memtest b/c i thought my ram was broken. The rest are easy to get. Just wondering what heaven will be like.
Also this is with no OCing.
    Asus G50Vt-X5(bestbuy)
    Screen Resolution:1366x768
    Memory:Honda 4GB@399Mhz(Dual Channel)
    CPU:Intel Core Duo P7450 @2.128Ghz
    GPU:Nvidia GeForce 9800M GS 512MB
    HDD:Seagate 320GB 7200RPM (Green edition)
    3dMark 06:~8400(after OC to limit)
    Crysis Benchmakr@High:~21FPS

    Sager NP8662(custom)
    Screen Resoultion:1680x1050
    Memory:4,096MB DDR3 1066MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS
    CPU:Intel® P8700 45nm "Montevina" Core™2 Duo 2.53GHz w/3MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FSB 25 watt
    GPU:Nvidia GTX 260M 1GB
    HDDs in Raid0
    HDD: 320GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 300 - 16MB Cache)
    HDD2:250GB 5400RPM (WD Scorpio Blue)*
    3D Mark06:NO idea
    Crysis Benchmakr:No clue

*I have this second HDD b/c the asus was advertised to be able to have it but nope it doesn't which is yay so i'm just saving it.

So anyone got any kinds of ideas about how much better the sager'll be. All i know is NEVER BUY AN ASUS. Never again, i've had enough hell with this thing. 2nd one and it's breaking. I'm calling the Bestbuy Regional Office and will try to get a refund. If not i'll do the loans things as i'm not dealing with this asus ever again.

Exactly what problems are you having with the asus? I don't get it.

The sager will be more powerful thanks to the 260M which is a 9800M GTX with slightly higher clocks. Depending on the resolution you play crysis at, expect around 30fps average, since Crysis is quite heavy. Overall the 260M GTX should be up to 40% better in some games, compared to 9800M GS.

The Asus might not be the most powerful laptop, but well, it is one of the cheapest gaming notebooks available, and with great quality too. If you want higher performance then go for the sager. You can try even models with the 280M GTX for even more performance.

Numerous. HDMI port breaking, the ungodly low speeds of random parts. False advertisement. Lots of bull. I just can't stand Asus anymore :/

It sucks when you get a defective unit, but what was false advertisement? What ungodly low speeds?

    You got what you paid for, a Core 2 Duo machine 2.13Ghz, 4GB DDR2 800mhz RAM, 320GB 7.2krpm drive, and an nvidia 9800M GS 512MB GDDR3.

I understand if you want something more powerful, as the AsusG50 is not it, but I just don't understand what you are so mad about.

Come on, for someone who got a lesser laptop for the same price, I for one can say that the G50 isn't all that bull--if only it was released a week earlier then I would've gotten it instead, you know. The setup is a great all-rounder. And unless you're a super-rich person, perhaps you want to save up to like buy a new notebook maybe a year or so later, then you'd have better options and stuff.

The Sager NP8662 only supports one hard drive...you won't be able to have 2 drives in RAID 0.

^ exactly what i was about to say.

The ASUS G50vt is one of the best budget gaming laptops. I dont know but it seems like you just have had a lemon laptop. Take it easy, get a replacement and all will work out.

I hope by "ungodly performance", you don't mean 8400 3Dmarks and only 21FPS on Crysis @ High because that is about average on a machine like that. Keep in mind it only costs 850USD and with a lil driver tweaking it can reach 9000 3DMarks and have >25FPS on Crysis @ High.
