While comparing GPU's for determining which one would be better faster at higher resolution, what spec about the GPU must one look at?

depends on your screen and what you are doing.
If you are running a high resolution for a spreadsheet, you only need a good integrated graphics
If you are trying to game at higher resolutions you want newer dedicated GPU's that are capable of pushing the pixels and have the correct memory for frame buffers ( not too much not too little )
If you are needing color accuracy or to drive high color pallet displays you need one that supports 10 bit color properly and works well with ICC profiles
if you are working in Pro Applications like Adobe CS, Avid, Solidworks, MAYA, ProE, Inventor etc you need a professional GPU that supports OpenCL/OPenGL/FP64 MUCH better than a gaming GPU.
it all depends on what resolution and application and need you have. for example a K1100m will run circles around a 780m in Solidworks or Photoshop, but gaming it is only as good as a 750m I believe. there is no one size fits all, and very few good for most unless you want to spend ALOT of money on the biggest Pro cards.
but since this is the gaming section I will make a few assumptions, but you want a more/most current generation and then larger/largest of the series. clock speeds and RAM tend to not be as important than those two factorsTBoneSan likes this. -
To be more specific, im wondering which can handle higher resolution gaming more, the 765m or the 670mx?

It's a crap shoot really, they will perform nearly identically at 1080p. GTX 670MX has a 192-bit bus which should make it run a bit faster at higher resolution, but the faster core speed and faster vram of the 765m make up for it pretty much.
