Here is the system I just ordered. I'm looking at the requirements for Heroes of Might and Magic V and it requires "CD ROM: 12X". Can I play this game?

My rom thingy is fast enough for all games correct?

Correct, it's fast enough. 8x is burn speed, 12x is read speed. Just about all optical drives read CDs at 48x nowadays.
