I am looking into possibly purchasing a notebook at retail that features the 7150m chipset, with Vista Premium.

However, several owners of laptops with this chipset have stated that it has a pretty annoying problem: that is, that it cannot handle Aero Glass at all efficiently. And, usually those reports have said that only HP stock drivers work at all, as trying to install others makes the laptops crash on restart.

So I'd like to know how true this is, if anybody has found drivers yet that install and solve the problem, or if just turning the theme down to Vista Basic will solve those issues completely, I'd really like to know.

Only actual owners or people who have demo'd the IGP in a retail store need to respond.

    Thanks.

Vista Basic will solve the issues.

But yeah, if you're looking at the HP, that thing's locked up tighter than a...

We'll say the 7150M on the HP is locked up pretty good. The only solution I thought of was hacking the video BIOS, and to me that just screamed potential disaster.
