So i just picked up a HP Envy m6-1105dx. Overall great system switched a 2gig stick out for a 4gig so its got 8gigs now but the vram is still at 512mb. Anyone know how to increase this? Bios has no options unless there is a command to get into some advanced options. Any help would be great.

vRAM is dynamic so it will expand as needed, and secondly, it will likely never need more than the 512MB allotted to it anyhow.

Not quite. Maybe at 1366x768 it might get close, but it's still restricted by the 1600MHz system RAM. In any case the A10-4600m is quite a beast for gaming. Too bad it's restricted to 15" laptops only for whatever reason.

I got AMD overdrive sucks i cant overclock my ram on it. Going to see if i can slap some faster ram in it or tweek the timings see if i can get a little more out of her. So far so good. Unparked the cores "Some reason i cant lock the cpu to its turbo multi" but it runs stuff great. And thats saying a lot because i never really liked AMD since core 2 came out and i must say the APU's are quite impressive.

Best you'll be able to do is tighten the timings if allowed. But that will only gain you 5% at best.

5% free performance gain is better then nothing. Thats what APU's are all about. Cheap free performance.

So i tryed to lock the multi on turbo and most i can get it to is 2.7ghz. Strange my A8 i was able to lock at 2.8 for 4threat stuff. But after i reformatted i was never able to do it. Only thing i can do on the A10 is change the pstate to 2.7

Was the A8 first generation (Llano)? Llano chips could be tweaked significantly, while they took away that capability with Trinity.

I cannot turn texture quality High in Grand Theft Auto 4, because the frequen game detecting only 512MB. How could I explain the game it will expand?

512MB may be max the GPU will allocate. Is there any option in the BIOS to increase amount of GPU RAM? It may not be wise to run with high texture quality anyhow considering the meager performance of that GPU.

Unfortunately there is no adjustment in bios, but I'd like to allocate 2GB. I can turn rest of the settings to High, expect texture quality because need 1GB Video memory or so. I play 1366X, so A10 is enough.
