    Hi all.

    The short, simple question:

I know Resistance: Fall of Man is designed as an FPS, but does anyone know if there is an option to play with an over-the-shoulder view?

    The long, drawn out reason:

I've developed into a turn-based strategy gamer in recent years, but used to enjoy an occasional FPS title - but that was waaaay back when I had a medium computer with a (comparatively) tiny screen. I find that nowadays if I go back and play any FPS titles.... well.... heck, I feel like I'm wussing out here, but the truth is I can get motion sick from the motion of the screen, particularly if there is a lot of action/movement (which, of course, there is if you're doing it right... :) )

The tendency gets worse, as you'd imagine, if I go play such a title on the PS3 hooked up to the big-screen plasma - but I noticed with games like Fallout 3 and Mass Effect that the effect was eliminated if I play in over-the-shoulder mode (I guess it gives my tiny brain something to focus on in the image; a 'stable reference point' if you will...)

So, anyway, though I do occasionally enjoy FPS, I've found I need to stick with ones that aren't TRUE FPS but offer the option for an over-the-shoulder view of some type.

Isn't Fall of Man a PS3 exclusive game? There's no 3rd person view in that game. I played that game, pretty sure it does not have that option.

Feeling dizzy, headache or nausea is quite common for casual FPS gamers, mainly because of the game's FOV is either set too high or too low. For a lot of PC games, you can modify the game's FOV value, like COD, BC2, etc... But not on the PS3.

Games that almost made me "throw up" are: MoH:AA, Half-Life (original), Condemned (original), and Dead Space (which is a 3rd person). So you probably would want to avoid these games. Try Oblivion, it also has 3rd person view option.

You probably should just stick with 3rd person view games if FPS games give you too much motion sickness.

    It's purely FPS.
