So for playing WoW and Diablo 3(when it comes out eventually) which CPU will be best for playing both on decent settings??

I currently have on order * look to my sig* but I am wondering if the 2720QM would be better with the same GPU... WoW is a very simple game, so maybe the CPU doesn't matter all that much, just want peoples input that know about these two processors.

    Thanks.

The 2720QM and 2820QM are both wastes of money.

Performance increase isn't worth the cost increase ._.

    Agreed.
The only reason i got Intel Core i7 2720qm is because that was the default option.
An i7 2820qm got extra L3 cache for a total of 8mb i think and a minor speed bump but its also a hefty price bump included. D:

For gamers. Let me be very clear, that I'm only speaking from the perspective of what will benefit a machine which is purchased for gaming.

If you need to render, or run virtual machines, my opinion changes.

You will be 100% fine. I use a crossfire setup, and my cpu (i7 740qm) has never been a bottleneck.

There was some testing done that showed in the wide majority of applications, the 2630QM was better than Intel's last generation fastest laptop processor (the 980XM, I think).

    Just in case that helps.

I have the 2630QM and I play GTA IV at fullHD with sliders at 100% and frame rates are excellent so I am sure it will have no problems with anything else. Especially when you consider how poorly optimised and CPU intensive GTA IV is. I haven't installed anything to check the specific frame rates or done any benchmarks but you can tell it is smooth.

you have a 485m also. but yeah. I'd hope a 2nd gen i7 could handle gta IV despite how bad it's optimization is.
